Not always funny

This morning's conversation:

Shane: Where is your Mommy?
Me: She isn't alive anymore.
[quiet]
S: Why did she die?
M: She got a disease and couldn't get better.
[quiet]
S: Your Daddy got a disease too, right?
M: Yes
[quiet]
S: When you are a Grandma are you going to get a disease?
M: I will do everything I can not to Honey.
S: When I am a Mommy your are going to be a Grandma, right?
M: Yes my Darling.

Nicely handled, Ronita. Tough questions...

Darling, I am afraid I have not been by lately to see your blog and WOW, you've written MUCH!

You did good. This topic will always be a hard one with our kids when they are this young. Their little heads can only take short little answers.

And you ARE gonna be a grandma when she is a momma. So see? You told the truth.

None of us knows when our time will come. We just live life to the fullest when we're here. That's for you, me, and just everyone.

Castle cakes, we make.

Love you

Wow, those are tough questions. Mommies have hard jobs.

I love that you didn't tell your child that grandma turned into the Easter bunny or something to keep from having to say she'd passed. Some mommies aren't very good with hard jobs, but you've proven you're coping quite well. =)
